Celebration of Purim with Jewish orphan childrenCelebration of Purim with Jewish orphan children

A happy Purim for orphan children from Zaporozhye

On March, 11th 2009, the fund PWC as usually invited Jewish orphan children from Zaporozhye to the fund’s office, in order to celebrate Purim with them.
So far as the majority of the Jewish orphans from Zaporozhye have been sent to Israel by the fund PWC within the recent years, there were only three of them at the celebration:
 - Lera Granovskaya,
 - Alik Afanasyevskiy,
 - Spartak Zimovskiy.
For the children’s celebration, employees of the fund have prepared toys, sweets, gefilte fish, fruits and special Prim small pies called “Aman’s ears”.

What kind of Purim can it be without masks, puppet shows and joy?

We reminded the children of traditional Purim attributes: pies called “Aman’s ears” and of the fact that for Purim they always serve grenades which symbolize the great number of Jewish population. Little Alik tried to count the grenade grains and try their taste.

Orphan children always enter the office of the fund PWC as a warm, cosy and hospitable home.
In order for the celebration to be even more home-like and friendly, we offered the children a chance to lay the festive table by themselves.

It was a great pleasure for the children, and the result was just wonderful! It was a real festive table!

The children were eating various festive delicacies with a great pleasure. Neither the children nor their guardians did try to hide their pleasure and the fact that they are able to have such tasty food only in the office of the fund PWC.

After the tasty dinner the children received gifts: soft toys, sweets and money.

And then our children with great interest examined the display of pictures “Our visiting Israel” in the office of the fund.

They found their friends from Zaporozhye in the picture, who now live in Israel: Vera Chirka, Sergey Student, Artur Godes.
With interest, they listened to a story about Artur Godes’ Bar Mitzvah and secretly envied him.

With curiosity, orphan children examined pictures in the booklet “Stirring meetings in the Promised Land” and listened to the stories of those whose dream to live in Israel has come true.
