Tatiana Yakovleva
Tatiana Yakovleva, 70, Executive Director of the fund PWC.

I have been helping Aliyah from Ukraine for more than 20 years, 15 of which I have been retired.

I realized the importance of Aliyah due to Phil Hunter, the President of “Good News Travels” organization. Sadly, he already passed away. Phil Hunter was the one who showed me that olim need a lot of help on their way towards their home, Israel. They need help to overcome their doubts, all the obstacles, which can be quite significant. It’s very important to find financial support for these olim.

In this work, one mustn’t lose dedication, persistence, and hope. One can’t fall into despair because olim are often in a much more desperate situation and can find no other hope and no other helping hand.

I thank the Lord for being able to meet many amazing people in different countries in the course of helping Aliyah. These people have participated actively in supporting the ones who needed us then, need us now, and will need us in future. Thanks to all these loving people, thousands of families have found a better life in the Promised Land, dozens of Jewish orphans found their forever home in Israel, and several infants were literally saved from death.

It’s such an incredible feeling when a noble goal unites kind hearts and when you can do good things despite all obstacles!
